Gun Registration Scheme Retracted by
Tennessee Department of Safety (TDOS)!
Thank You to All of the NRA Members Who Made Their Voices Heard!
As we reported, the Tennessee Department of Safety (TDOS) was sending letters to all firearms instructors requiring them to complete and return a copy of a Handgun Safety School Class Roster within 24 hours of the completion of a handgun permit certification class, “effective immediately.” The roster required a student to provide information concerning the name of the firearm owner, the name of the student using the firearm, as well as the make, model, and serial number of firearms used.
We are happy to report that the serial number requirement has been retracted. School rosters with a student’s name and the make and model of firearm used are allowed per TDOS’ Rules and Regulations. The make and model of a student’s training firearm has always been required on certificates.
Thank you to all of the NRA members who answered the call and voiced their opposition to this backdoor, de facto gun registration plot. Without you, this victory would not have been possible.

I wasn't aware of this issue, and I thought I was on the NRA alert list. Glad part didn't pass.
But, why do they need the Firearm owner and make and model? This is almost as bad as the Ser #.
