I'm new to reloading and also do 9mm.  I live in Spring Hill and all the local shops (Steve's, Ted's, Lock Stock and Barrel, and Franklin Gun shop) do not stock 9mm bullets that I've seen.  Reloaders Bench in Mt. Juliet has the best selection of reloading equipment around if you want to make the trip.  I know Lock Stock and Barrel will order if you ask them.

I've purchased all of my 9mm off the internet.  A couple months ago, Cabelas had free shipping on orders over $150.  I figured that was a great deal since bullets weigh so much.  A couple weeks ago, I ordered from http://www.zerobullets.com/ .  They offer free shipping if you buy 1000 bullets. Reloaders Bench stocks some of their bullets.

Hope this helps.

I've looked at Natchez website, but I don't think they deliver to TN.  It's probably cause of taxes.

The $61 is an excellent price for 1000 good bullets.  I've  Rainier bullets (and other types) from Midway  -  9mm, 357, and 45 and found them to be high quality and low price.  I've used Rainiers in "hot" 357 and 45 LC loads and have not had any problems or leading.  If you watch the sales, even with shipping, (I always combine with some other goodies that I want) you can find a good price.

Just noticed that 1000 of 124 Gr roundnose is $81.  Check out the following link.

Shocked
WOW, makes me appreciate casting my own even more.  If that's a good deal, I'd hate to see what's not.

No matter what you say MW, I'm not going to cast my own bullets.   Grin

Well, don't quote me on that.   Wink

Let us know how you like them.

I just got my dies for .40 S&W.  Guess I'm making a trip to the range tomorrow to test out some loads.

I just looked on Berry's Mfg. website (http://www.berrysmfg.com/).  Berry's bullets are similar to Rainier in that they are plated.  I've loaded 750 RN 9mm Berry bullets and they are fine.  Now that I've looked right on their website, I will buy directly from them.

Graham

Interesting site, and a good alternative.  But, I didn't find that their prices are much different from the Rainiers from Midway, once you add Berry's lead surcharge.

Sounds like Berry's plated bullets may be softer than Rainier?  Only the Rockwell readings would tell.  However, my experience with Rainier on recovered bullets and examination of my bores tell me that the hardness and jacket (plating) retention is sufficient for even some hot hunting loads in 45LC that I use.  And, Rainier says you can use theirs like jacketed.  Then again, many shooters probably wouldn't care about bullet hardness.

And like you, I currently have no interest in casting my own  -  Pray that none of us get to a point whether the choice is "to cast or not shoot"  -  then again, we'll have to find powder, primers, etc somewhere.

Right, the lead surcharge puts them only a few dollars under  if I were to order from Cabelas, but since they don't charge for freight on orders over $50.00 it's a good alternative.  When I first looked at their website, I thought those were awesome prices, then I read about the lead surcharge, so I did a sample order to see what the lead surcharge would be.

I'm not sure about the softness comparison.  I'm strictly looking for better pricing.  If the less expensive bullets start fowling my barrels, then I will stop using them.  So far, with about 600 of those Berry 115gr RN 9mm through my Glock 19, I have not noticed any problems.

Midway is selling Rainier for $5.00 off when you buy 1000.  Not a huge discount, but I thought I'd let ya know.

As long as you aren't shooting them in a Glock, you should be fine.
